TELUPID: Many vehicles were stranded after several trees fell and blocked both lanes along the Ranau-Telupid Road last night.
The incident is believed to have occurred at around 9.04pm during heavy rain.
Telupid Civil Defence District Officer Lt (PA) Sopihan bin Muhammad said the Telupid Civil Defence Force (APM) team was immediately deployed to the scene to conduct safety checks and carry out tree-cutting and removal operations using specialised equipment.
A minor landslide was also reported at the location, making it more challenging for the team to carry out the tree removal operation safely.
The cutting and removal works were conducted with safety as the top priority to prevent injuries during the operation.
The operation ended around 12.07am.
