Former Chelsea boss Claudio Ranieri has revealed the moment when he knew he lost his job at the club.

Ranieri was in charge when former owner Roman Abramovich took over the club back in 2003.

Despite a successful first campaign, where they finished second and reached the semifinals of the Champions League, Ranieri eventually lost his job and was replaced by Jose Mourinho.

Ranieri told the new Paramount+ documentary Fever Pitch: When Peter Kenyon made the first interview I said to myself, 'finished Claudio, you are dead'.

He has said, 'If Claudio does not win any title it is a disaster'.

I said, 'why', Roman never asked me something like this in the first year."
