RapidKL Worker Wins Hearts After Using His Own Fan To Cool Child & Helping Family Board After 3 Full Buses

The post RapidKL Worker Wins Hearts After Using His Own Fan To Cool Child & Helping Family Board After 3 Full Buses appeared first on WORLD OF BUZZ.

A RapidKL worker has been praised online after he went out of his way to help a mother and her young children who were struggling to board a bus after attending the Merdeka parade.

The heartwarming moment was shared on Threads by passenger @najihah_9456, who said she was trying to make her way home from the parade at around 12 PM to 1 PM when temperatures were particularly high.

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, she said she had already watched three buses pass by as she struggled to make her way through the crowd while pushing a stroller. RapidKL staff noticed her situation and appeared concerned after seeing that her children had been waiting in the heat. When the next bus arrived, the RapidKL team helped clear a path for passengers with strollers, allowing them to board first.

An act of kindness on Merdeka Day

The team also called over other passengers with strollers so they could queue together and board more easily. However, one particular RapidKL worker caught her attention for an especially thoughtful gesture.

In the video, he can be seen asking the mother if her child was feeling hot before taking off the portable fan around his neck and pointing it towards the child in the stroller, all while continuing to monitor the surrounding crowd and traffic.

What made the gesture even more touching was that he continued fanning the child while keeping an eye on the road, occasionally glancing back to make sure the fan was still directed at the child. The passenger said he continued doing so until the fan’s battery eventually ran out. When the bus finally arrived, the worker even apologised to the mother for the fan running out of battery.

The Threads user also pointed out that he could have easily kept the fan for himself, especially since he was also standing outside in the heat. Instead, he chose to use what little battery he had left to help keep her child cool.

Interestingly, he was not the only person who showed kindness that afternoon, as she said an elderly man also offered to fan her after seeing the children struggling in the heat.

However, she said she declined the offer as the man was elderly and was also enduring the heat himself. Reflecting on the experience, she said she was touched not only by the RapidKL team’s efforts, but also by the kindness shown by members of the public. She also highlighted how people of different ages and backgrounds had come together to celebrate Merdeka.

RapidKL also responded to the post, thanking her for the kind words and revealing that her message, along with other similar feedback, had already been shared with the wider team.

“Thank you for your kind words. We had actually shared this and other posts with the whole team earlier, in the hope that, if our services are needed next year, we can further improve the way we serve everyone. Thank you once again,” RapidKL said.

Hopefully, the worker in the video now knows that his small gesture did not go unnoticed.
