Raping daughter: Man charged

Kota Kinabalu: A 35-year-old man was charged with raping his 14-year-old daughter in the Sessions Court, Thursday.

The man pleaded not guilty before judge Elsie Primus to raping his daughter at 8am on Dec 23, 2022 at a house in Kota Marudu.

The offence under Section 376(3) of the Penal Code carries a jail term of between eight and 30 years, and whipping, on conviction.

The court set March 10 for pre-trial case management.

The man was ordered to be remanded further.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Mas Izzaty Lokman appeared for the prosecution while the man was not represented.

In another case, the court set Aug 7 and 8 for trial of a 33-year-old Filipino charged with robbing a female e-hailing (Maxim) driver and fleeing with her Perodua Bezza.

The court set the date for Omar Boy, an IMM13 holder, whose case was brought for mention to fix trial date.

Omar is accused of robbing Nor Isnarezam Zahari, 32, and fled with her vehicle at 11.50pm on March 26, 2022, along Jalan Sulaman, near here.

Omar had also voluntarily caused hurt and fear to NorIsnarezam.

The court ordered Omar to be remanded further.
