Kota Kinabalu: The Sessions Court here Thursday fixed the trial date on July 24-25, next year for a security guard for allegedly raping a 17-year-old girl.

Hanafie Roslan, 22, trial date was set Thursday by Judge Noor Hafizah Mohd Salim at a pre-trial case management.

He was charged under Section 376 (1) of the Penal Code which provides for a jail term of up to 20 years and whipping, upon conviction.

He allegedly raped the victim at a house in Tuaran around August, this year.

The accused, who is represented by his counsel Mohd Ari Nadzrah Abd Rahman, told the court that he had received 16 documents to be used in his trial from the prosecution. Counsel Muhamad Amirul Amin stood in for Mohd Ari Nadzrah.

However, the prosecution told the court that all documents had already been given to the accused except medical report of the victim and coloured photographs which are not ready.

The accused is currently released on a bail of RM10,000 with two local sureties, and has been ordered by the Court to report himself to a police station twice a month and not to disturb the prosecution’s witnesses, pending disposal of the case.
