Manchester United prospective bidder Sir Jim Ratcliffe is already involved in club planning.

The INEOS chief is hoping to secure 25 percent of United for around 1.3 billion.

He will also assume sporting control of United if the deal moves ahead, per various British media sources.

Now The Mirror adds that Ratcliffe has been holding video calls with Joel Glazer about United.

The two are discussing strategic alternatives for the club to improve its standing in the game.

Despite lavish spending in the past decade, United have fallen well behind rivals Manchester City in the sport's pecking order.

While they are an occasional Champions League club, United's biggest trophy since Sir Alex Ferguson retired is a sole Europa League.
