Sir Jim Ratcliffe wants to include a buyout option in his deal to takeover Manchester United.
Ratcliffe has made a third bid for United, which would include leaving current owners the Glazer family an opportunity to maintain a 20 per cent stake.
Glazer brothers Avram and Joel are keen to maintain an involvement and are seriously considering the proposal.
However, Sky Sports says Ratcliffe's offer will include a buyout option. The clause would see after three years of Ratcliffe's majority ownership, he would have the option to gain 100% control.
Both the Ratcliffe and Sheikh Jassim offers of around 5bn in value fall short of the Glazers' 6bn assessment.
