Incoming shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe wants to see a new sporting director hired at Manchester United.
The Athletic says he already has a target in mind in former Liverpool chief Michael Edwards.
Edwards is available after he left Liverpool in May 2022.
He has since been working on the launch of a new scouting and analysis company which was launched this year.
But if Ratcliffe has his way, Edwards could now be returning to the Premier League with United.
