Sir Jim Ratcliffe's INEOS will help fund the redevelopment of Old Trafford.
The Times says part of the agreement which will see the Glazer family sell 25 per cent of their stake in Manchester United to Ratcliffe will include the upgrading of Old Trafford.
Ratcliffe has agreed to put funds aside to help contribute to the Old Trafford redevelopment project.
INEOS plan to expand the stadium by around 15,000 seats to a capacity of 90,000.
Ratcliffe's share purchase is set to be rubberstamped by United's board later this week.
