Manchester United's board is set to green light Sir Jim Ratcliffe's 25 percent stake purchase this week.

The club are set to welcome new investment and input into their running in the form of the INEOS chief.

Ratcliffe does eventually want to buy all of the club, but such a buyout may be a multi-year process.

However, The Times and other sources state that United chiefs John Murtough and Richard Arnold are in trouble.

Both could be on the chopping block if Ratcliffe's demands are met, which involve him assuming sporting control.

The self-confessed United fan wants to bring in outside experts to fill in Arnold and Murtaugh's positions.
