Rayo Vallecano coach Andoni Iraola admits interest from Leeds United was flattering.

Iraola was blocked from moving to Leeds by Rayo after Jesse Marsch's dismissal.

He told Sky Sports: "It was a pleasure that they thought of me as an option.

"But I spoke to Rayo Vallecano, the only ones who can make a certain decision, and I understood that they absolutely wanted to continue with me.

"It was an open choice, between two clubs that talked to each other and with whom I also chatted. We discussed for a day, then we closed saying only: 'Okay, it's not the time, let's end it here'.

"It's nice to be considered but I'm very happy to work at Rayo Vallecano I hope they end the season in the best possible way."
