- English golfer Matt Fitzpatrick held his nerve to beat world No 1 Scottie Scheffler in a playoff at the RBC Heritage on Sunday.
- The two players could not be separated after 72 holes, but Fitzpatrick holed a 12-foot putt on the first playoff hole to claim victory.
- The win earned Fitzpatrick a huge payday, as he took home $3.6 million (£2.7 million) in prize money for claiming first place.
- It was Scheffler’s second runner-up finish in the space of a week after he also came second at the Masters behind Rory McIlroy.
- However, he still earned $2.16 million (£1.7 million), while third-placed Si Woo Kim received $1.36 million (£1 million).
