Borussia Mönchengladbach have signed Sweden striker Isac Lidberg from second division Darmstadt, the Bundesliga club said on Tuesday.

Gladbach said that Lidberg, 27, has signed a four-year contract until 2030. The transfer fee has been estimated at €3.5 million ($4 million), plus add-ons.

Lidberg recorded 17 goals in the past season, making him the second best scorer in the second tier. He had 31 goals overall from 58 Darmstadt matches and has won three Sweden caps.

“Isac carries a real goal threat, is physically strong and knows how to hold his own in duels. Combined with his dynamism and mentality, that gives us an aggressive centre-forward,” Gladbach head of sports Rouven Schröder said.

Lidberg is the fifth new arrival at Gladbach who finished 12th in the past Bundesliga season.
