Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has announced Toni Kroos can sign a new contract.
The veteran's current deal expires at the end of the season and there's been claims he could retire.
However, ahead of facing Getafe, Ancelotti said: "He is very well, physically and mentally, he always has a smile on his face, he never gets angry, he never feels pressure.
"It seems very strange to me, I tell him that if he is not nervous and he says no.
"The renewal is in his hand, if he wants to renew all of Madridismo he will be happy."
Ancelotti also denied his players were managing their fitness.
"I don't think so, knowing the players, they want to play. We must evaluate the fatigue well, we play every three days. The player is not so sincere in this sense, he says that he is fine even if he is tired. Sometimes not being honest in this sense costs injuries. I prefer that they be honest, if they are tired, and that they tell me that they prefer to stop.
"Only two players have told me that in 30 years: one was Pepe, in a Champions League final, and the another Seedorf in a league match."
