Real Madrid defender Eder Militao has played down his form this season.
Ahead of their Champions League quarterfinal second-leg at Chelsea, Militao was asked if he was the best centre-half in the world.
The Brazilian replied: "I'm on the road to becoming one. When I arrived it was difficult for me because of the amazing players ahead of me but I slowly started to show what I was capable of and I'm doing a good job now. I work hard at home and do all I can to improve and maintain the levels I'm reaching. It's very difficult if you don't look after yourself."
"I feel as though I've improved my concentration. I found that difficult in the past but with the help of everyone around me and the coach, I'm on the right path now. I listen a lot and I have to keep doing so. I'm in great form and I have to keep working hard to continue that."
He also said: You have to work very hard because there are so many top class forwards around now. You have to be at your best physically, emotionally and personally. You have to be prepared because they put you to the test in every match. I think I'm doing that pretty well and the way everyone helps me out is hugely important. I give my all in every game to help my teammates feel more comfortable."
