Real Madrid midfielder Fede Valverde was delighted with victory over Real Sociedad.
The hosts came from an early Ander Barrenetxea goal conceded to win 2-1 via efforts from Valverde and Joselu.
Valverde later said: "We created a lot of chances in the first half, but we couldn't get the breakthrough. They had a lot of chances as well and scored with their first one. That hurt us, but we kept trying as always. The goal at the start of the second half really gave us the boost we needed to go for the game in front of our own fans".
"We were looking good. There are games when things don't work out, when you don't link up well with a team-mate, but today the only thing we missed was the goal. We created enough chances to win and the teammates who came on after that did their best to ensure that everything turned out well".
He added: "I cannot believe that strike. I'm happy to be able to help the team. Whatever I can do for the team, whether it's scoring or assisting, it makes me happy."
