REDMAGIC Malaysia has just released its latest Astra 2 flagship gaming tablet, powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and equipped with the AquaCore Cooling System 2.0.
To begin with, the REDMAGIC Astra 2 is equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, paired with the dedicated RedCore R4 gaming chip for enhanced gaming performance, 2K super-resolution, customizable in-game effects, and intelligent power management.
The Energy Cube 3.0 further optimizes CPU, GPU, memory, cooling, and touch resources in real time to improve frame-rate stability, responsiveness, and power efficiency during demanding workloads.
Packing a 9.06-inch 2.4K OLED display, the tablet offers 185Hz refresh rate, up to 1,600 nits peak brightness, and a 90.1% screen-to-body ratio with 4.9mm bezels. Its Full Black Integrated Polarizer improves contrast and power efficiency, while the Synaptics S3930 touch system provides a 300Hz average touch sampling rate and up to 2,000Hz instant sampling for responsive input.
For thermal management, the Astra 2 introduces the AquaCore Cooling System 2.0, combining liquid cooling, Liquid Metal 3.0, and a large 4D VC vapor chamber. The sealed system uses micron-level liquid channels, piezoelectric ceramic micropumps, and fluorinated coolant, while the Liquid Metal 3.0 and dual-sided VC structure improve heat transfer and dissipation to reduce thermal throttling during sustained gaming.
Powering the tablet is an 8,300mAh dual-cell battery with support for 75W fast charging, reaching a full charge in as little as 60 minutes. The tablet has two USB-C ports, with the short-side port supporting up to 75W charging and the long-side port up to 40W, while also supporting two-way reverse charging and separate audio output for greater flexibility during use.
Design-wise, the Astra 2 features a metal frame and transparent glass-accented rear panel that exposes its liquid cooling system and RGB lighting. It also offers IP54-rated water and dust resistance, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, DTS Ultra-certified symmetrical dual 1227 stereo speakers, dual 0815 X-axis linear motors for 4D haptic feedback, and a multifunctional Magic Key for quick access to GameSpace and other controls.
Running REDMAGIC OS 11.5 based on Android 16, the tablet includes a 13MP rear camera with AI imaging enhancements and a 9MP front camera for video calls and selfies, alongside REDMAGIC AI-powered input tools.
Connectivity options include Bluetooth 6.0, DisplayPort output supporting up to 4K@144fps or 8K@60fps, and USB 3.2 Gen 2. It also comes with a range of sensors, including a gyroscope, geomagnetic sensor, Hall sensor, ambient light sensor, accelerometer, and fingerprint sensor, with both fingerprint and facial recognition available for device unlocking.

Sporting two color options, Black Eclipse and Starfrost, the REDMAGIC Astra 2 gaming tablet will be available in Malaysia from 8 September at 8PM via REDMAGIC’s official website and Shopee, with prices as follows:

- 16+ 512GB model — RM4,399
