Kota Kinabalu: New BIMP-EAGA Business Council for Sabah (BEBC) Chairman Dr Raymond Alfred said the Special Envoy Office should report directly to the Chief Minister for the grouping to be effective.

Presently, the Special Envoy has to report to the State Secretary and other Ministry officials that frustrate quick decision-making.

He also said the Federal Government should delegate the Chief Minister of Sabah or Premier of Sarawak to deliver the ministerial speech in each meeting on policies, etc.

He refuted claims that BIMP-EAGA basks in false glories but did not deny that certain officials may have been abusing their positions.
