SEMPORNA: The Regatta Lepa celebration which promotes the culture and unique traditions of the Bajau ethnic group has become a tourist attraction in Sabah.
State Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment, Datuk Jafry Arifin, said the Bajau can further elevate their culture through various events and cultural programs presented to all levels of society.
“This festival was introduced in 1994 by the Semporna District Council to celebrate the historical heritage of the Bajau in Semporna so that it does not become obsolete.
