Kota Kinabalu: Parti Warisan President Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal urged Malaysians residing abroad to register as postal voters to enable them to exercise their right in the 15th General Election.
He said they should seize this opportunity to change the political landscape of the country because the current government does not have the mandate of the people.
“It is time for us to reset the country in order to move forward,” he said in a statement, Wednesday.
“Our country is not going anywhere at the moment. While the rest of the world is working hard to recover from the economic and social impacts of Covid-19, Malaysia just seems to be embroiled in the polemics of race and religion.”
There are 1.8 million Malaysians living abroad and Shafie called on all of them to take part in deciding the path our country should take.
“Just because you are living outside Malaysia, it does not mean that you cannot take part in voting.
“This is about the future of our country and the future of our children.
“Your vote matters. It matters not only for today but especially for tomorrow.”
