Reinvestigation where Zayn Rayyan’s body found, home if necessary - Police

PETALING JAYA - Any decision to conduct a reinvestigation at the site where the body of autistic child Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin was found, as well as at his family home in Damansara Damai here, depends on the necessity of the investigation.

Selangor Police Chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said that they required statements from the victim’s parents before taking further action.

"The matter depends on the results of the interrogation," he said when contacted on Saturday.

Earlier, the parents of the autistic child were remanded for seven days starting from Saturday until Friday to assist with the investigation.

Prior to this, Hussein confirmed that the investigation of the couple was conducted under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

He said that the arrest of the couple was based on intelligence and investigations from the first day of the incident.

It is understood that both suspects, aged 28, are being held in the lockup at the Petaling Jaya District Police Headquarters (IPD) during the remand period.

On Dec 5 last year, the six-year-old child was reported missing in Damansara Damai before his body was found near a river approximately 200 metres from his apartment block at Idaman Apartment, Damansara Damai the following day.
