Remulla names Mindanao politician, 10 other persons of interest behind shabu shipment from Laos

MANILA, Philippines — Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla on Friday identified 11 persons of interest linked to the 521 kg shabu shipment from Laos bound for the Philippines, including a former Bangsamoro Parliament member.

In a Palace press briefing on Friday, Remulla said the persons of interest were based on their initial investigation with the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

“This is based on facts, actual documents, and extensive police work. This is not a guess, not an accusation, and not a staged performance… This is information obtained in collaboration with our counterparts in Southeast Asia,” said Remulla in Filipino.

Remulla named Edriezan Hadji Nasser Rimbang as the Mindanao politician linked to the Laos drug case.

His wife, Rohanjah Rimbang, was a former political ally of former President Rodrigo Duterte.
