MANILA, Philippines — Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla on Thursday said the chances of arresting Sen. Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa "are getting bigger" despite the lawmaker allegedly having a protector.
"We’re almost there. Yes, lumalaki na (it's getting bigger)," Remulla said during a chance interview at the Senate.
Remulla also refused to comment about the reported negotiations with individuals allegedly harboring Dela Rosa.
"It's confidential. It's confidential. We cannot disclose it right now," Remulla said.
"It's an executive matter... It'll jeopardize the operations if we reveal who the persons are... So, iwan niyo muna sa akin yan while we do the operations," he added.
Dela Rosa is facing an arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court in connection with alleged crimes against humanity linked to the previous administration’s anti-illegal drug campaign.
