Designer Len Cabili, founder of the fashion label Filip+Inna, continues to build a practice rooted in collaboration with Filipino artisans while navigating the practical demands of a career that spans remote communities and international platforms.
Known for integrating indigenous craftsmanship into contemporary fashion, Cabili works closely with artisan groups across the country, often in locations far from urban centers. Her work requires constant coordination with weavers, partners and clients, making communication an essential part of her process.
“I rely heavily on my network to get things done,” Cabili said, noting that maintaining steady contact allows projects to move forward despite geographical distance. She cited digital connectivity as one of the tools that supports this workflow, particularly as her schedule involves frequent travel.
Cabili’s work has taken her from rural areas in Mindanao to engagements abroad, requiring her to remain accessible while on the move. She said staying connected enables her to manage both creative and logistical responsibilities.
“Since I travel frequently, Smart Infinity is my trusted partner that keeps me connected with my team, wherever I am,” she said.
Beyond professional coordination, Cabili emphasized the importance of communication in sustaining personal relationships alongside her work.
“Communication is key to nurturing connections with family, friends and collaborators,” she said, adding that reliable connectivity allows her to stay in touch whether she is in Kalinga or Sulu.
Technology, she said, has become embedded in her creative practice, supporting the collaborative nature of her designs without replacing the time-intensive work behind each piece.
“In my work, craftsmanship and collaboration are central,” Cabili said. “Technology has made the creative process more efficient and faster, complementing the patience and skill behind every piece.”
For the designer, maintaining balance allows her to remain focused on her core mission: sustaining relationships with artisans and continuing to present Filipino craftsmanship within a contemporary and global context.
