Ivory Coast forward Yan Diomande has decided to leave RB Leipzig for Paris Saint-Germain, according to media reports, but his sporting director says he is staying put.
Broadcasters Sky and RMC, as well as transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, reported that the 19-year-old has agreed a five-year contract with the French Champions League winners.
For the move to go through after the ongoing World Cup, PSG must still agree a transfer fee with Leipzig.
But Leipzig sporting director Marcel Schäfer told Bild on Monday: "Yan Diomande will play for RB Leipzig next season."
There will come a time when the winger makes the next step, "but not this year," he added.
Liverpool were also said to have shown strong interest in Diomande. Media reports said Leipzig had rejected a €100-million ($114 million) offer from the Reds.
Diomande is under contract at Leipzig until 2030 and there is no release clause in his deal. Leipzig had been trying to extend his contract on improved terms.
Leipzig signed Diomande only a year ago from Spanish second-division club CD Leganes for €20 million.
His performances quickly put Europe's top clubs on alert and sparked repeated speculation that the speedy winger could leave the Bundesliga after just one season.
Diomande has also made no secret of the fact that Liverpool and PSG are among his favourite clubs.
For now, however, Diomande is focused on reaching the last 16 with Ivory Coast. To do so, his team must beat Norway and striker Erling Haaland in their first knockout-round match on Tuesday.
