Poland star Robert Lewandowski is on the verge of moving to the US to join Chicago Fire, with media reports saying the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich striker has agreed a two-year contract with the Major League Soccer side.
The contract is expected to be signed within the next 24 hours and Lewandowski set to undergo a medical soon, broadcaster Sky and portal the Athletic reported on Sunday.
The striker's contract with Barcelona expires at the end of the month.
Signing him would be the next high-profile coup for Chicago after recruiting Germany icon Bastian Schweinsteiger 2017-19.
Lewandowski, 37, could potentially meet an old acquaintance in Chicago, with reports saying Fire is also keen on Germany's Leon Goretzka, who is leaving Bayern.
