The son of Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit, Marius Borg Høiby, has been sentenced to 4 years in jail for a range of crimes, Norwegian media reported on Monday.
According to the newspaper Verdens Gang, the court acquitted him of two of the four rape charges brought against him. He was convicted on the other two charges.
He must pay compensation to four women, including two ex-girlfriends, the report said.
For health reasons, Høiby - who faced some 40 charges in total - did not attend the hearing in person but followed the proceedings via video link from prison.
The trial, which ran from early February to mid-March, shocked Norway and drew global media attention.
Høiby is the stepson of Crown Prince Haakon, heir to the Norwegian throne, but he holds no title and is not an official member of the royal household.
