A teachers' union reportedly plans blockades of entrances to Azteca Stadium ahead of a World Cup match between Colombia and Uzbekistan later on Wednesday.
The reports said that the union CNTE plans protests all day, with the match to kick off at 8pm (0200 GMT Thursday).
The Publimetro paper said at at least four protest marches and five rallies are planned in ongoing protests against a pension funds reform.
Some 11,000 police officers are deployed in the city, and 8,000 of them around the stadium. Several metro stations and roads have been closed.
The number of security forces was increased just like around the tournament opener last week between co-hosts Mexico and South Africa. There were still clashes between protesters and police at one stadium entrance at that match.
