LABUAN: A Sabah-based activist says the island will enjoy a triple bonus if it is returned to Sabah, which with Sarawak is benefiting from the restoration of rights under the Malaysia Agreement (MA63).
Datuk Patrick Sindu foresees that if Labuan becomes a district again under Sabah jurisdiction, there is a good possibility that the island may have two assemblymen given the fact there that based on the last electoral roll, Labuan had 44,484 eligible voters which is a big number.
“Some present Sabah constituencies have less than 20,000 voters. So having two is not out of question. Besides the island is also served by a Member of Parliament and Senator.
