RANAU: Residents around Kg Mesilau Kundasang KPD Office were ordered to evacuate immediately after a landslide occurred here on Saturday.
Head of the Ranau Fire and Rescue Department, Ridwan Mohd Taib said that the incident happened at about 2pm.
Advertisement“A call was received at 2.09pm via the Station Line about the incident, and a group of three personnel led by Operations Commander PBK II Mastin bin Suli rushed to the location.
“The area is located 25 kilometers from the Ranau Fire Station. When we arrived, we found that there had been a landslide incident involving the KPD office in that area.

According to Ridwan, they would monitor the situation, install barriers and advise the residents in the vicinity to move to a safe place.

He urged the villagers here to remain constantly vigilant as the situation could change very fast.

“Keep important documents in one place (so that) it is easy to take out in case of an emergency, also immediately leave the house and go to a safer place if a similar incident occurs in the future,” he said.
