PENAMPANG: A retired policeman succumbed to fatal head injuries after the motorcycle he was riding crashed into a bulldozer along the Pan Borneo Highway, Thursday.
District Police Chief Supt Sammy Newton said the 2.30pm incident happened at a construction section near the Monsopiad Cultural Village.
Medical officers pronounced the 61-year-old victim dead at the scene. He was later brought to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for post-mortem.
“He was attached to the State Security and Public Order Department at the Penampang Police Headquarters here,” he said in a statement issued on Friday.

The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act.
