
GENERAL TRIAS CITY, Cavite – Retired police officer Nelson Yabut emerged as Class A champion in the inaugural ALTA Golf Cup at the Isao Aoki Course of the Eagle Ridge Golf and Country Club in Barangay Manggahan here on Thursday.
A six handicapper, the 65-year-old Yabut tallied a net 70 score in the division designed for 92 and below.
Finishing second was Jesus Valle while Michael Pizarro settled for third place honors.
Allen Aquino, meanwhile, capture the Class B crown with a net 71, beating Jose Rommel Almero and Ronnie Henares.
Claiming the championship for Class C was Benjie Munasque with Paolo Antonio Luna and Mike Llanio finishing second and third, respectively.
Carlo Antonio Ilagan won the Lowest Gross award with a score of 76 while Carlo Crisanto Ilagan won the Lowest Net with 70.
Henares also won the Nearest to the Pin award while Aienn Afable bagged the Longest Drive and Cyril Manalo bagged the Most Accurate Drive plum.
Perpetual Help Medical Center president Richard Antonio, University of Perpetual Help System Dalta-Las Piñas City campus director Dr. Arnaldo De Guzman, Dean of the Graduate School Dr. Eduardo Zialcita, DALTA Executive Academic Audit and Accreditation Center executive director Dr. Lorelie Siy and Alumni Affairs head Liwanag Elizares led the awarding of the trophies to the winners.
The tournament, also dubbed as “Swing for a Cause,” is a sports development project of the Perpetual Help Las Piñas City campus and part of the 50th founding anniversary of the prime university of South Metro.
