Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has arrested a retired civil servant for allegedly submitting false claims of approximately RM60,000.
The suspect, a man in his 60s, was detained at 9.45am today when he appeared at the Keningau MACC branch office to provide a statement.
Investigations suggest that the offence occurred between March 2020 and August 2021, involving duty allowance claims for Movement Control Order (MCO) enforcement.
The suspect is believed to have submitted claims under the names of his wife and child, although they never reported for duty.
Sabah MACC Director Datuk S. Karunanithy confirmed the arrest, adding that the suspect will be charged under Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009 at the Kota Kinabalu Special Corruption Court on March 14.
