
Manchester United bidder Sir Jim Ratcliffe has a long history of trying to buy part of football clubs.
Ratcliffe, whose INEOS appear to be unsuccessful in their attempts to buy United, also tried to purchase Chelsea.
Now it has been revealed that he once tried to buy 50 percent of Barcelona.
Per The Times, Ratcliffe had a conversation with Barca president Joan Laporta.
He looked at a purchase of around 50 percent of the club's shares, but the situation then became too political."
Spanish clubs are famously fan owned and extremely resistant to foreign investment.
