INEOS chief Sir Jim Ratcliffe's bid to buy Manchester United appears to have failed.
The British billionaire had hoped that he would be named the preferred bidder for the club.
However, a journalist from Bloomberg has stated that INEOS' bid is out of the running.
They claim that Qatari royal family member Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani is now the favourite to buy the club.
The issue with Ratcliffe's bid is that it would only buy out the Glazers, and that too over a period of a few years.
Minority stakeholders at United would not be impacted, which may result in them suing the Glazer family.
