United States and Chelsea star Christian Pulisic rejected a move to Manchester United earlier in his career.
The American had the chance to sign for the Red Devils while at Borussia Dortmund.
However, Pulisic was said to be persuaded by his father not to join United.
His dad is said to dislike then United boss Jose Mourinho and his antics.
Robin Walker, who coached Pulisic at Brackley Town, told The Telegraph: "I'm a Chelsea fan, I grew up in London supporting them. When I was in Dortmund last year, I told him that he had to come.
"He wouldn't go to Manchester United because of Jose Mourinho. His father couldn't stand Mourinho because he didn't promote young players."
Media reports have stated that Mourinho could be in line to become the next USA boss.
