MANILA, Philippines — Former senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. is “thankful and elated” after the Sandiganbayan granted his bail in the P92.8-million Pandi, Bulacan ghost flood control case, his legal counsel and spokesperson lawyer Rean Balisi said Friday.
“From the beginning, former Sen. Bong Revilla placed his trust in the judicial system. This resolution of the Court to grant him bail affirms the truth that the evidence of guilt is not strong,” Balisi said in a statement sent to The Manila Times.
Balisi said Revilla would spend time with his family after being separated from them for the past six months while in detention.
