SABAH FC will have an uphill task when they take on Terengganu FC in the return leg of the FA Cup quarterfinal tie at the Likas Stadium tonight (Saturday).

We need to win by a margin of four goals just to level the score following the 0-4 loss at the Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium in Terengganu, last Friday.

Can Sabah FC really pull this feat off? Well, in football anything is possible and we have to be positive about it.

It is important for the players to give their best and play hearts out.

The talk of the town is that it will be difficult for Sabah FC to win the match based on our performance in the disappointing away result in Terengganu, let alone to overcome that four-goal margin.

However, let’s not cry over spilled milk and move on to fight for a big win with all our might.

No doubt Terengganu FC are not a weak side especially in the attacks. To have any chance of winning, we need to neutralise the midfield, players must help each other out in defence.

We must be quick to retrieve second balls, quick to cover up in the defence and must not give any space to the opponents especially inside the box or at the shooting area.

What needs to be done is on the onus of the players when they enter the pitch. They must walk with their head held high and do their best once the game starts.

Some may say it is easy for me to make the comments, but I had been there before and I know there is still a chance for the players to defy the odds working as a team and they must grab it.

Let’s boost each other up and get that adrenaline going for the match. Let’s try to make it to the quarterfinals.

I also hope the first team players are not facing any injuries. We definitely need the best out there for the match.

Although Sabah FC are now the underdogs and Terengganu FC only need to defend and go on the counter attacks with less pressure, Sabah FC still have the next 90 minutes to determine the final outcome.

So come tonight and we will root for Sabah FC to come out victorious, and hopefully with a big margin to advance to the semi-final.

What a story it will be if we can pull this off at the end of the full time whistle.

Come on lads, let’s go out there and do it for the fans!
