SABAH FC are hosting Kuching City FC in the return leg of the Malaysia Cup round of 16 tonight (Saturday) at Likas Stadium.
With a three-goal cushion from the first leg win in Kuching, we are expected to brush off any kind of upset especially playing on home turf with the support of our die-hard fans.
I am sure everybody are expecting us to safely sail through to the quarterfinal with Perak FC or Kedah FC awaiting!
However, we must be aware that tonight’s game cannot be taken lightly.

The team have to go into the game with a positive attitude as what they had shown in the league games against the City Boys.
With the right frame of mind, I believe the players can get the job done tonight, but again, Kuching City wouldn’t be a push over.
They have good fighting qualities in the team and we need to give them the right amount of respect and not more.
We must balance respect with confidence as this is another night when Likas Stadium can make the difference.
Kuching City have nothing to lose – that makes them even more dangerous. They will want to strike back. That’s the situation and we have to be ready for that.
We have to play our game right. The boys did unbelievably well on Sunday and that’s what we have to do again.
It will be another big derby for us and we are going to be at our best to win the game.
I am certain that coach and team manager Datuk Ong Kim Swee will field the right players for the match tonight.
It is also hoped that those players carrying injuries will get well soon as apart from the Malaysia Cup, we still have five more games in the league to play for.
Although we are in fourth position now, we must try to win all the remaining game in order for us to get into a better standing in the league at the end of the season.
Good outing tonight Sabah FC, we trust that all players will be in the right frame of mind.
As always, an early goal will help to settle the nerves.
