
MANILA, Philippines — The average retail price of rice increased while that of pork decreased in early February, according to a report by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
Regular milled rice had an average retail price of P45.54 per kilogram (kg) during the first phase of February 2026 (February 1-5, 2026). This marked an increase from its average retail price of P43.76/kg during the second phase of January 2026 (January 15-17, 2026). It was also higher compared to its price level of P43.14/kg during the first phase of January 2026 (January 1-5, 2026).
The early February 2026 prices, however, indicated a decline compared to its price levels of P47.19/kg in the second phase of February 2025 (February 15-17, 2025) and P47.77/kg in the first phase of February 2025 (February 1-5, 2025).
Fresh pork liempo retailed at an average price of P368.95/kg in early February 2026. This indicated a decline from its price levels of P371.07/kg and P372.96/kg in mid- and early January 2026.
Similarly, this was lower than its P378.84/kg and P375.02/kg price levels in mid- and early February 2025, respectively.
