KOTA BELUD: 14 Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK) and associations in Kadamaian received a total allocation of RM1,329,000 under the Sejahtera Komuniti Madani (SejaTi Madani) initiative to boost various rural economic projects.

Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick said each recipient received between RM49,000 and RM100,000 for ventures such as livestock farming, fish breeding, chilli fertigation, handicrafts, tailoring, food processing and traditional massage services.

The villages involved are Purak Ogis, Melangkap Noriou, Podos, Taginambur Jaya, Tintapon, Pangi, Gensurai, Kiau Nuluh, Gandukut, Mangkulat and Penampatan Wariu.

“Three associations also received allocations, namely the Persatuan Pembangunan Identiti Dusun Tindal Kota Belud, Persatuan Penduduk Kampung Piasau Kota Belud and Persatuan Penduduk Kampung Gensurai,” he said.

Ewon, who is also Kadamaian Assemblyman, said he visited several villages with the Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU), Kadamaian District Office and Kadamaian Community Development Leader Unit (UPPM) to observe the projects.

He praised the community’s efforts and urged other villages to emulate them, adding that many JKKK leaders had applied for funds after a briefing earlier this year.

“I remain committed to supporting rural economic development in Kadamaian, as well as infrastructure and land surveying, which are key enablers for economic activities here,” he said after his visit.
