RM16.3 mln allocated for flood mitigation projects for Selangor’s river basins

SHAH ALAM, Nov 25 — Some RM16.3 million has been allocated for the development of flood mitigation projects throughout Selangor, which will be distributed according to river basins identified by the state government, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

“RM6.255 million will be allocated for the Sungai Klang river basin, RM5.67 million for the Sungai Langat river basin, and RM1.52 million for the Sungai Selangor river basin.

“The figures account for 24 per cent of the total RM68 million allocation given to the Selangor State Irrigation and Drainage Department under the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP),” he said during the tabling of the 2023 Selangor Budget at the Selangor State Legislative Assembly, here today.

For the year 2023, the department has allocated the projects under the 12MP to a total of RM991 million.
