
The federal government allocates RM17.5 billion for Sabah’s 2026 development, focusing on infrastructure, healthcare, and electricity supply stability
KUALA LUMPUR: The federal government has allocated RM17.5 billion for Sabah’s development in 2026 to strengthen the well-being of its people.
This allocation continues the government’s commitment to the state’s progress.
Major infrastructure projects have been resumed under the MADANI government’s administration.
This includes the RM13.9 billion Pan Borneo Sabah Highway.
Improvements to basic facilities are also underway, including the development of the Sabah Heart Centre at Queen Elizabeth II Hospital.
The government is bolstering essential supplies with RM1.2 billion allocated to ensure electricity supply continuity.
An additional RM765 million is allocated for the Southern Link Transmission Line Project.
This project involves building a new electricity transmission line connecting Sabah’s east and west coasts.
Its primary aim is to stabilise electricity supply across the state. – Bernama
