NABAWAN: Three infrastructure projects worth RM2.5 million under the Kampung Angkat Madani Project Initiative in Kampung Salong Mukim Pagalungan are being implemented here.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Datuk Arthur Joseph Kurup said the projects are the construction of a sales centre and fishing jetty under the supervision of the Malaysian Fish Development Authority (LKIM), agrobazaar stalls under the supervision of the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (Fama) and a new concrete suspension bridge to replace the existing facility which is the main route for residents and students of SK Kuala Salong.

“With better basic facilities and economic opportunities in their own villages, residents, especially the young people, no longer need to migrate to the city to find jobs.

“This can also help maintain the social and cultural structure of the Kampung Salong community,” he said when visiting the Kampung Salong infrastructure upgrade construction site on Saturday.

The Kampung Angkat Madani Project initiative in this village, implemented by KPKM, will have a great impact on the local community.

He said the project aimed at improving the quality of life and driving socio-economic development, would help bridge the infrastructure development gap in the area.

Arthur, who is also Pensiangan MP, stressed commitment of the Madani Government to continue empowering the rural areas through initiatives such as the Kampung Angkat Madani Project.

“Kampung Salong is a successful example of how a holistic approach and close cooperation between the government, the community, and other stakeholders can bring significant changes to the lives of rural people.

“We believe that by providing quality basic infrastructure, we can unlock the full potential of the local community and drive inclusive national development,” he added.

Arthur said KPKM would continue to work with various government agencies, the private sector, and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to ensure the continuity and effectiveness of the Kampung Angkat Madani Project.
