
Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick has officiated the newly completed Tamu Desa Pekan Tenghilan, which was constructed at a cost of nearly RM200,000 and completed on Sept 28 last year.
He said the construction of the new infrastructure is part of the 93 Tamu Desa projects implemented by the Madani Government through the Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Ministry (Kuskop) in Sabah and Sarawak last year.
Advertisement (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});“This initiative falls under the Domestic Look East Policy that I am implementing at Kuskop, which places additional focus on these two states without neglecting the ministry’s overall national priorities,” he said at the event held at the Persatuan Keluarga Keturunan Damit (KKD) Tenghilan site today.
Ewon added that the government has allocated funds under Budget 2024 to construct Tamu Desa premises, with varying designs such as open-air halls or stall-based layouts, either newly built or upgraded from existing markets.
