KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Table Tennis Association has announced a RM30,000 cash incentive for medal winners at the Selangor 2026 Malaysia Games (Sukma).
Its president, Liew Kian Vun revealed that the funds were provided by an anonymous businessman known for his consistent support of Sabah table tennis.
According to Liew, the champion team will receive RM20,000, while the runners-up and third-place finishers will take home RM6,000 and RM4,000 respectively.
Liew stated that the team will compete in seven events, focusing mainly on the women’s doubles and mixed doubles.
He also emphasised that while the competition results are significant, it’s crucial for the players to appreciate their opportunity to represent Sabah, fighting with high spirits and striving for personal excellence.
Meanwhile, an appreciation dinner for the contingent’s players and coaches was held recently, where team manager Ho Ka Lin accepted the official team uniforms from Liew.
