
PENAMPANG: The Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives through its agency, the Cooperative Commission of Malaysia (SKM), will channel a special disaster grant of RM50,000 to the cooperative of St Michael Secondary School here.
The fund will be used to repair flood damage in the school area.
Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick said the school had to be temporarily closed for two days due to flooding.
“I will also channel a special funding of RM100,000 to build a concrete parking area that the school requires,” he said after inspecting the flood damage at the school.
During the visit, students were seen cleaning the school grounds.
Ewon also said he gave a RM5,000 donation to the gotong-royong to help clean up the school.
Also present were Penampang District Officer Francis Chong, Sabah SKM Director Matias Kundapin and School Principal Jenifer Asing, among others.
