RANAU: A total of 100 young rural entrepreneurs from around Paginatan received entrepreneurship assistance totalling RM500 each recently.

The assistance, distributed through the Chief Minister with NGOs and Sabah Young Entrepreneurs Outreach Programme, was presented by Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister, Datuk Abidin Madingkir.

This programme targets young entrepreneurs who do not have official business documents to obtain government assistance to either expand their business or start it.

“Today, the state government has decided to help young entrepreneurs who have high prospects to succeed in their fields.

“There are youths who have already started their businesses and there are also those who are just aspiring to start an idea that they are interested in and hopefully the contributions given through this programme can help achieve their dreams, starting from small,” he said.

Abidin added that this contribution shows that the government under Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) cares about the youth and this is a recognition of the youth today.

He, who is also Assemblyman for N.38 Paginatan, hopes that all recipients at the event will use the contribution well.

“Do not waste the contributions given, instead, learn to appreciate every income obtained because such an attitude is also one of the characteristics of a successful entrepreneur,” he said.

In the meantime, Abidin also called on all youths here to continue to give their support to the existing GRS government because of its excellent achievements so far.

According to him, political stability in Sabah under the GRS government has been able to convince international investors to come and invest by building large factories in the state.

“This development enables the State of Sabah to earn a good income while also giving it the ability to govern the state better through the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) 1.0 agenda.

Abidin expressed his excitement for being able to spend time with the youth at the event and thanked all the youth in this district, especially those who had the opportunity to attend the event.

He also congratulated and thanked YAB Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Hj Noor and the organisers for the initiative to organise the programme in Ranau and hoped that such programmes will continue to be held in the future.

Also present were the Director of the Institut Kerjasama Kerajaan dan Rakyat (IKRAR), Azrul Ibrahim, Community Development Leader (PPM) N.38 Paginatan, Hisyamudin Harun, UPPM Paginatan staff and others.
