Kuala Lumpur: One-way airfares from Peninsular Malaysia to Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan will not exceed RM500 for the upcoming Aidilfitri celebrations.
Transport Minister Anthony Loke gave his assurances that the Government will maintain the ceiling airfare for festive seasons.
“I have launched fixed fares for AirAsia, Batik Air and Malaysia Airlines. All airlines gave good cooperation and offered fixed fares to return to Sabah and Sarawak,” he said.
He said, however, that the RM500 ceiling price only applies to three or four days before the festive celebration, adding that it only includes the base fare and not other related charges.
“This initiative was carried out by the Government to ensure tickets during the festive season remain reasonable and do not rise too high,” he said.
