
Kota Kinabalu: The government allocated RM6 million to build a new mosque in Kampung Bangka-Bangka to replace the existing one, said Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Datuk Ts Mustapha Sakmud.
He said the Prime Minister had approved the allocation in 2024.
“At present, it is still at the consultation stage. Once completed, we will appoint a qualified contractor as the allocation is available,” he said after officiating the Ihya Ramadan Zone Sabah, here.
Also present were JKOM Director-General Datuk Ismail Yusof, JKOM Deputy Director-General for Strategy Suwadi Guliling, Islamic Economic Development Foundation (YaPEIM) Sabah Director Mohd Shahrudin Karim, and JKOM Sabah Zone Director and Federal Territory of Labuan, Milus Alu @ Abd Wahad.
At the event, Mustapa, who is also Sepanggar Member of Parliament, reached out to 34 underprivileged individuals in the village.
“I hope that JKOM will play a more significant role in ensuring that the community better understands the Malaysia Madani framework outlined by the Prime Minister,” he said.
